One Target Golf

Privacy Policy

One Target Golf is designed to provide on-course golf distances and advice while keeping the core experience on your device. This policy explains how the iPhone and Apple Watch app handles information.

Information the app uses and stores on your device

• Location and heading: used to show GPS yardages, identify nearby courses, orient the direction indicator, measure a tracked shot, and provide weather and elevation-based calculations.
• Golf profile and round data: the carry distances, club choices, handicap, settings, saved tracked-shot distances, selected courses, downloaded course data, and weather values you choose or create in the app.
• Optional AI settings: the provider and model you enable. Your AI-provider API key is stored in your device's Keychain, not in the app's regular settings.
• Optional sensor and health data: motion, short swing-triggered audio samples, and Apple Health workout information are used only when you enable the related feature. Raw diagnostic sessions and round history stay on your devices unless you explicitly choose to share them.

One Target Golf does not require an account or sign-in. The core GPS distances, course calculations, and club recommendation are calculated on your device.

When information is sent off your device

Some optional or connected features need an internet connection. When you use them, the following providers may receive the minimum request information needed to respond:

• Weather and elevation: your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve current weather conditions or terrain elevation.
• Course search and course data: a course name and, where applicable, a search area or coordinates can be sent to OpenStreetMap services (including Overpass and Nominatim). If Google Places is configured in the app, Google may receive the course search query, optional search area, and selected place ID needed to return course address and contact details. Course data may also be downloaded from the app's course-data host.
• Optional AI Virtual Caddie: only if you configure and enable an AI provider, the selected provider—currently OpenAI or Google Gemini—receives the advice request and the relevant golf context needed to answer it. That context can include course and hole information, your location-derived distances and target, selected club carries, weather, and mapped hazards. Your API key is sent to the provider to authenticate the request.
• Subscription verification and course downloads: when you request paid course data, Apple's signed subscription transaction is sent to the One Target Golf download service solely to verify active access and issue a short-lived download token. The service does not receive your Apple Account password.
• Course issue reports: when you choose to report a course problem, One Target Golf sends the selected course's identifier, name and mapped location, the issue categories and optional note you provide, plus app version, language and a random report identifier. Reports are retained only for course-data review and correction, then may be deleted after they are downloaded and verified by the developer.

Those services process requests under their own privacy policies. Do not enable an optional service if you do not want its relevant information sent to that service.

Website course preview

The interactive map on this website stays off until you choose to open it. Once opened, your browser loads a compact static copy of the app's Canadian course summaries and connects to unpkg for the Leaflet map library and OpenStreetMap for map tiles. A search is handled locally when it matches the bundled course summaries; an unmatched place search is sent to Nominatim only when you submit the search form. “Near me” asks for browser location permission; if allowed, the coordinates are used in your browser to centre the map. One Target Golf does not receive or store those coordinates, although the map providers receive normal web-request information under their own policies. The website map requires a network connection for its map library and tiles.

What One Target Golf does not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use advertising networks or behavioural advertising.
• We do not use the information described here to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Your choices and data control

• You can deny or later change location permission in iOS Settings.
• You can choose not to configure or enable an AI provider and can remove its API key in the app.
• You can remove locally stored app information by deleting the app from your device. Your iPhone or Apple Watch settings may offer additional controls for app data and permissions.
• You can avoid sending a course report by cancelling before submission. For a submitted report or other privacy request, contact us with the course name and approximate submission date so we can locate and delete it when reasonably possible.

Children

One Target Golf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact
